Dr. Pokhraj Ghosh is an inorganic and bioinorganic chemist whose research focuses on the design, synthesis, and mechanistic study of transition-metal complexes relevant to biological and catalytic processes. He serves as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Southern Methodist University, where his work explores fundamental questions in small-molecule activation, nitrogen and oxygen cycling, and organometallic chemistry.

Dr. Ghosh earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research with leading groups in inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry. His research has contributed to a deeper understanding of metal-mediated transformations involving nitric oxide, nitrate, and related biologically important molecules. Through a combination of synthetic chemistry, spectroscopy, and mechanistic investigations, he seeks to develop molecular systems that provide insight into both natural enzymatic processes and sustainable chemical technologies.

In addition to his research accomplishments, Dr. Ghosh is dedicated to mentoring students and fostering collaborative scientific discovery. His work has been published in prominent peer-reviewed journals, and he continues to advance the fields of inorganic, organometallic, and bioinorganic chemistry through innovative research and education.
